1. Inspiration
Every tattoo begins with a spark of inspiration, drawn from your surroundings or life experiences. It could be a cherished memory, a beloved symbol, a personal story, or simply something you love. Collect your ideas and images together ready to send to your artist.
2. Choose Your Artist
Browse our resident artists, each with their own creative style. Find the one whose artwork speaks to you and fits your vision. Contact them directly to send them your ideas and image references. Be sure to include as much information as possible – include sizing, placement, whether you’d like colour or black & grey, whether you have any existing tattoos to cover or work around. We can do most consultations over email, but we’re happy to meet you face to face if preferred.
3. Prepare for Your Appointment
Your artist will send you a design to check out, usually in the week before your appointment. We always hope we’ve nailed it first time, but if not be sure to give your artist clear instructions if you wish to make any changes. Before your tattoo appointment —rest well, stay hydrated, and make sure to eat before you arrive. You may wish to bring snacks / lunch / snuggly blankets / a book / headphones to stay comfortable!

How do I book an appointment?
Start by browsing our resident artists and their styles. Once you’ve chosen your artist, use their contact links to request a session. They’ll guide you through the next steps and confirm your booking.
What are the studio’s health and safety protocols?
We are fully registered with Medway Council and follow strict hygiene standards to ensure your safety at all times. All equipment is single-use or thoroughly sterilized, and our artists wear gloves and protective gear throughout the process for your safety.
How should I prepare for my tattoo session?
Get a good night’s sleep, eat a full meal beforehand, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.

Where is TLC Tattoo located in Kent?
We are based in a welcoming studio space in the heart of Gillingham, Kent. The studio is in a residential area and is open by appointment only. Once you’re all booked in we’ll send you details of how to find us.
How do I care for my new tattoo?
Your artist will provide detailed aftercare instructions at the end of the session. Generally, keep the tattoo clean, moisturized, and avoid direct sun and swimming until fully healed. Contact us if you have any concerns during healing. Download an aftercare sheet here.
Can I bring a friend or guest to my session?
For privacy and comfort, we ask that you attend alone unless you’ve discussed special circumstances with your artist in advance. Our space is designed for focus and relaxation.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
We understand plans can change. Please contact your artist as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Deposits may be non-refundable with late notice, as per our studio policy.
